Just under two weeks ago the Armada Junior Freeski Slopestyle went down at Snow Park NZ. It was an incredibly successful day and everyone had a bunch of fun. Tanner Hall is back! One of the founding members of Armada, Tanner Hall has influenced our sport more that anyone can understand. It's incredible seeing him back on skis after over a years hiatus and multiple knee surgeries. Keep charging buddy, you inspire us all!

The Armada Junior Freeski Slopestyle went off with a Bang! yesterday with bright blue skies at Snow Park NZ.
The picture perfect snow conditions and purpose built terrain park beckoned a hoard of 45 junior freeskiers, eager to show their skill and style in the opening event of the NZ competition season.

Podium regulars from Wanaka, Beau-James Wells, 14, and Jackson Wells, 12, took the top spots in the Junior and Youth boys divisions, respectively. Nine year old Manu Barnard, also of Wanaka, took out the Grommets division.

In the girls divisions, Queenstown's Adie Lawrence,16, took out the top spot in the Juniors, while Olivia Jones, 11, of Wanaka and Maggie Little, nine, of Albert Town reigned supreme in the Youth and Grommets age divisions.

"It was great to have Snow Park's triple line opened and to see the kids getting out there again," said Head Judge Dion Newport. "The lillypad feature was a big hit with the kids and the course had something for everyone."

The event continues tomorrow with the Rossignol Snowboard Slopestyle.
The Snow Park Junior Slopestyle is part of the NZ National Points Tour (www.snowsports.co.nz) giving every rider the opportunity to score points towards becoming overall National Junior Champion. The event is also is also the first stop on the new Armada 'Rat Bag Tour'. More information on the Rat Bag Tour will be on the site very soon.

Attention everyone little and large (but especially the little ones)! The Snow Park Junior Slopestyle is fast approaching. The Armada Junior Freeski Slopestyle is on Tuesday the 13th of July and the Rossignol Junior Snowboard Slopestyle is on Wednesday the 14th of July, with the 15th as a contingency day. The Armada Junior Freeski Slopestyle is also the first stop of the "Armada Ratbag Tour"; due to hit the rest of New Zealand very soon.
New Zealand's top junior freeskiers and snowboarders will start their school holidays with a spectacle of talent and showmanship, when Snow Park NZ run their first ever 'Junior Slopestyle Open' on the 13th and 14th July.
The action will take place on Snow Park's slopestyle run with features especially sized to suit junior riders.
"There is a growing demand for more junior competitions so this year we decided to create our own freestyle slopestyle event," said Sam Lee, Snow Park NZ Operations Manager. "We value the future of freestyle skiing and snowboarding competitors and have designed a world class junior course and professionally run event."
July 13th will see the Armada Freeski Slopestyle event followed by the Rossignol Snowboard Slopestyle on July 14th.
The event will also give New Zealand's Junior World Championships Team an opportunity to hone their skills prior to the upcoming World Junior Championships Slopestyle, also held at Snow Park NZ in August.

AGE GROUPS (Date of birth is calculated from Jan 1): Grommets (9 and under= born 2001 or later), Youth (10 - 13 = born 2000 - 1997), Juniors (14 - 16 = born 1996 - 1994)
REGISTRATION: Entry Fee is $20 + $20 bib deposit.
ENTRY OPENING HOURS: Friday 9th - Sunday 11th. 9am-4pm.
�· Entries in person: Accepted at Snow Parks 'The Good's Retail' shop.
�· Entries by phone: Parent required to phone with valid credit card: 03 443 9991 (during registration hours 9-4).
FORMAT SCHEDULED: Training followed by a three run final.
MAXIMUM ENTRIES: 60 entries per day.
Entrants are required to provide identification proving their age and must also have a signed waiver to complete registration. The waiver and entry form will be supplied on registration.
