Armada Skis Dominate the Freeski Open Podium
The TNF New Zealand Freeski Open Slop and Half Pipe events went down last week under sunny skies at Snow Park NZ. The event was stacked with some really good athletes, never the less Armada Skis helped a number of athletes to the podium.
In the slopestyle Armada athletes Kim Lamarre and Devin Logan took first and second respectively for the women's.

Kim Lamarre stoked on 1st place!
In the Halfpipe, we saw style king Taylor Seaton taking first place on his Armada Pipe Cleaners and Armada Athlete Gus Kenworthy taking 3rd.

Devin Logan again dominated the field with some huge airs and solid tricks, getting her a well deserved 1st place in the half pipe.

Mark's little Ski Tour on the JJ's at Treble Cone
Last friday I took one of many steps that will lead me to a metamorphosis. Slowly, I believe, I am changing into a scroggin muncher.
Which I think is not a bad thing

So yeah last friday I went on my first little wee ski tour out of Treble Cone. As I lost my skinning virginity, Tori Beattie and Nick Johnson were available to hold my hand and help me through the not so complex procedure of putting skins on my skis. After less time than expected, we headed off to the Gotliebs, an area skiers right of the infamous Chutes, which has always seemed elusive to me.
Not so long after we departed, we were perched on top of a big rock looking into the wilderness that was beyond. Although the ski field was still in reach, a tiny bit of freedom and wonderful isolation was still felt. Some good fresh turns were had by all of us, a few yeeeeps and yeeeehs were yelled as we slashed our way down the back side of the Gotliebs.

Our skin back out was far shorted than expected and I was almost keen for another, but our time had run out. I will definitely be heading further into the backcountry out of TC as I metamorphisise into a scroggin munching froth head.

The Armada Ratbag Tour is stopping off at Porters in Canterbury this weekend! On Saturday there will be a Rossignol and Armada Demo set up, so that everyone can try out the new awesome skis that have come out this year. Then on Sunday is the Ratbag Tour Day, where we all get to have as much fun as possible.
The Idea is to get a whole bunch of likeminded people and grommets together and lap the park, shred the whole mountain, learn some new tricks and most of all have a bunch of fun. There will be a BBQ, lollies, mini comps and most importantly a whole bunch of spot prizes from Armada, Bern, POW Gloves and Joystick. Throughout the Ratbag tour we are looking for a young Grommet that has that special something (and some mad skills), because we are looking to add a Grommet to the Armada Team.
So come one, come all, and tell all your friends: "The Armada Ratbag Tour is in Town!"

Another awesome week of Skiing has gone down in NZ. Armada team riders have been successful in an array of different events. Earlier in the week we saw Kim Lamarre winning the NZ Open Women's Slopestyle and Gus Kenworthy getting 3rd place in the super competitive Men's Slopstyle. Following this, in very difficult conditions, Taylor Seaton kept his wits together to win the Men's Halfpipe.

Over the week The World Heli Challenge was held in the Southern Alps, and Charlie Timmins from Australia held it down for Armada family winning The "Fktor Award" which honors the athlete who without question stomps an epic run, push's the envelope of the sport and embraces the reasons of why this event is put on. It was also epic to see Sam Smoothy, Frasier McDougal and Cam McDermid taking 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively on the Big Mountain Day and holding it down for New Zealand.

Good stuff Charlie, Gus, Kim and Taylor for pushing the envelope yet again for Armada.

The Armada Halo makes noseblocks like the one pictured below much easier. The Halo with the aptly named "Elf Shoe Technology" has pushed our sport into a new direction and not only lets you progess your skills into unknown territories but is also a dream to just ski around with on groomers. Here we see Mark trying out something a little different at Snow Park NZ, during sunset.
